UNIVERSAL offer a number of emulsifiers to create an emulsion of two insoluble liquids. We also offer wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid and enable it to spread more quickly and easily.

UNIVERSAL products are designed specifically for invert-emulsion and water-based drilling fluids for improved operational flexibility.

UNITONE

Impart viscosity and suspension properties to oil base drilling fluids, for improving cutting-carrying capacity and to provide long-term suspension of weighting agents.

UNITONE -PR

Function
UNITONE-PR is used to impart viscosity and suspension properties to oil-based drilling fluids. UNITONE-PR is also used to gel oil drilling fluids for long-term suspension of weighting agents in drilling and packer fluids. UNITONE-PR typically yields faster than UNITONE-PR but will reach the same final viscosity. UNITONE-PR is usually preferred in mineral oil based fluids. UNITONE-PR is stable to 350°F (176°C). UNITONE-PR should not be used in high performance clay-free oil based drilling fluids.

TANNIN-Q

Function
High temperature filtration control additive for use in any oil- or synthetic base mud systems with minimal effect on rheological properties of mud. Temperature stability is up to 500°F (260°C).

UNIMUL-SBM

Function
UNIMUL SBM    functions as a wetting agent and secondary emulsifier when used in conventional, low‐fluid‐loss, high‐lime systems in combination with UNIMUL P. In this application, the product barite and drill solids to prevent water‐wet solids; it improves thermal stability, rheological stability, filtration control and emulsion stability; and it improves the fluidʹs resistance to contamination. Concentrations for initial formulations range from 1 to 3 lb/bbl (2.85 to 8.6 kg/m3) when used as a wetting agent, with occasional daily treatments. UNIMUL SBM  functions as the primary emulsifier when used in relaxed‐fluid‐loss, lower‐lime systems, in combination with UNIWET additive. In this application, the product forms a stable, water‐in‐oil emulsion and provides a degree of oil‐wetting

UNIMUL-100

Function

UNIMUL 100 is a primary emulsifier used for formulating invert drilling fluids.  It will provide high emulsification and some fluid loss control.  UNIMUL-100 is commonly used with secondary mud emulsifiers such as UNIMUL P or S.

UNIMUL-101

Function
UNIMUL 101 is a primary emulsifier used for formulating invert drilling fluids. It will provide high emulsification and some fluid loss control. UNIMUL 101 is commonly used with secondary mud emulsifiers such as UNIMUL P.  It provides good emulsification and higher electrical stability with some filtrate control properties.

UNIMUL-102

Function
Additionally, the stable emulsified acid package that is created with UNI-624 reduces the acid reaction rates at high temperatures, which allows for better acid penetration in deep well acidizing operations.

The UNIMUL-102 is used itself and can be batch mixed with the acid or mixed on the fly as needed. Once the acid package is neutralized, the emulsion will break and also provide water-wetting characteristics

UNIMOD is used to improve cuttings transport in large-diameter or directional wells, especially wells with diameters greater than 8 ½ in. or deviations greater than 25°. It modifies the rheological profile of oil-base muds, increasing their shear-thinning and thixotropic characteristics without using additional clay-base additives.

UNIVIS-OBM

Function
Provides elevated yield point and gel strength with minimal increase in plastic viscosity there minimize the amount of clay in formulation and improves LSRV to increase shear thinning, thixotropic characteristics oil base mud.
